Matt Doherty signs new contract with Wolves

Teenage Wolves full-back Matt Doherty has signed a new three-year contract, keeping him at Molineux until 2014. The 19-year-old Irishman, who joined from Bohemians in August 2010, made his third senior start on 20th September in the 5-0 Carling Cup win over Millwall.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy told the club website: "He reminds me a lot of Kev Foley in the way he plays. He has another really solid and mature performance. He's just signed a new contract and I'm delighted with him." He added: "The Doc was great [against Millwall] and his use of the ball was as good as anybody's."

He certainly shows a lot of promise.
